SOWEGA Council On Aging Invites Community To Annual Public Hearing

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, October 10th, 2025

The Sowega Council on Aging (SCOA) invites community members to be part of the conversation at its annual in-person Public Hearing. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 9 am at the SCOA Regional Resource Center located at 335 W. Society Avenue in Albany.

The Public Hearing provides an important opportunity for older adults, at-risk adults, caregivers and the general public to share feedback and insights. This input helps shape SCOA’s planning and programming as the organization works to support seniors and their caregivers in achieving safe, self-reliant and meaningful lives.

“At the Sowega Council on Aging our mission is to empower seniors and their caregivers through resources, programs and services that promote independence and well-being,” said Izzie Sadler, Executive Director of SCOA. “The Public Hearing is a vital time for us to listen directly to the voices of our community so we can better respond to the needs of those we serve.”

The discussion at this year’s hearing will center on the themes of living longer, living safely and living well. In addition to in-person participation, those unable to attend are encouraged to share their feedback through an online form available here: https://sowegacoa.wufoo.com/forms/m1l8g26007oz4a3/.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information about the Public Hearing or the programs and services provided by the Sowega Council on Aging please visit www.sowegacoa.org.
