Darton Foundation and Albany State offer Continued Education Units
Thursday, October 9th, 2025
The Darton Foundation, in collaboration with Albany State University, are offering two continuing education opportunities this fall that will allow therapy discipline professionals to expand their expertise while supporting student success. Both events are designed to strengthen clinical practice and ethical understanding in their fields, with all proceeds benefiting student scholarships.
“We’re excited to, again, partner with the Darton Foundation to offer the Ethics and Georgia Jurisprudence course in a fully virtual format this year,” said Dr. Sarah Brinson, Dean of the Darton College of Health Professions at Albany State University. “It’s a convenient and accessible way for health professionals to obtain their biennial certification requirements from the comfort of home, while still engaging in meaningful discussion about the ethical and legal standards that guide our practice.”
The 2025 Biennium Ethics and Jurisprudence Continued Education Unit for the Therapy Disciplines is being offered virtually with an additional 2-hour self-study and will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. This important offering focuses on professional ethics, legal requirements, and state-specific regulations relevant to Georgia’s therapy professionals. It fulfills license renewal requirements while promoting best practices in ethical decision-making, professional boundaries, and compliance with current Georgia law.
“The Kinesio Taping Certification Course provides an exciting and fascinating exploration into the therapeutic uses of Kinesio taping,” said Dr. Kameron Causey. “Participants will gain a hands-on understanding of how this versatile technique can enhance recovery, support movement, and promote healing, particularly in the treatment of sports-related injuries.”
The Kinesio taping certification course, a 16-hour CEU course, is scheduled for November 14 and 15th, 2025, at the ASU Cordele campus. The course offers a comprehensive exploration of kinesiology taping as a therapeutic intervention. Participants will gain an understanding of the physiological effects of taping, proper application techniques, and utilization for specific conditions across orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric cases. The course includes both instruction and a hands-on application, providing attendees with certification upon completion.
“Together, these events offer professionals a chance to advance their knowledge while directly impacting the next generation of therapists,” said Randae Davis, the Executive Director of the Darton Foundation. “Every dollar raised through registration fees will go toward student scholarships, helping remove financial barriers for those pursuing healthcare careers.”
To register for these classes visit the Darton Health Professions Foundation website events tab, dartonfoundation.org/events, or search for the events on Event Brite.
By participating in these courses, practitioners not only invest in their own continuing education but also contribute to the broader mission of advancing the therapy professions and ensuring access to education for future leaders in the field.
