2025 Young Marine of the Year for Albany, Georgia: YM/SSgt Daniel Crump

Young Marine Staff Sergeant Daniel Crump has been named the 2025 Young Marine of the Year (YMOY) for the Albany Young Marines. 

YM SSgt Crump has been a Young Marine since 2020. He has completed Senior Leadership School and Drill and Ceremony School this past summer and is looking forward to new opportunities to serve with the Young Marines program.

We are also thankful for the community involvement of our YMOY selection board that participated in this special event.  Members included Dr. Frank Archer from Albany State University, SgtMaj Frank Kammer of Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, and Mr. King Randall from The X for Boys.

The Young Marines is a national non-profit 501(c)(3) youth education and service program for boys and girls, age 8 through high school graduation. The volunteer-run organization promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members and focuses on teaching the values of leadership, teamwork, and self-discipline, so its members can live and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The Albany Young Marines serving alongside such organizations as the City of Albany, Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, Albany Police Department, Albany Area YMCA, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Marine Corp League Detachment 1260, American Legion Post 30 and Post 512, Elk Lodge Post 713, Albany Exchange Club, Albany State University, Feeding the Valley, Wreaths Across America, and numerous other organizations and churches.
