Thursday, May 11th, 2017
Dr. Paulette Richmond will become the Dougherty County School System’s first Associate Superintendent for District Effectiveness. The board approved her appointment at its May 8 meeting.
Richmond, who currently serves as the district’s School-Improvement-Grant Coordinator, will join the system’s senior leadership under Superintendent Kenneth Dyer who begins his tenure after succeeding Dr. David C. Mosely on July 1.
The Associate Superintendent for District Effectiveness supports and engages with schools and leadership teams in their school improvement efforts, while providing leadership, supervision and management over Federal Programs, instructional support, parental involvement and professional development of teachers and staff.
In this role, Dr. Richmond will also serve as the district’s point person for the re-accreditation process through AdvancED.
“I’m thrilled to have been given this opportunity and look forward to working with the board, Mr. Dyer and our staff deliver on our promise to provide a quality education to the students of Dougherty County regardless of their situation or challenges,” Richmond said.
Dyer, who is in the process of building his core leadership team and who recommended Richmond for the position to the superintendent, said Richmond’s track record of building successful collaborations and improving the school environment was key in his decision.
“Dr. Richmond is steeped in school improvement and leader development. She brings a wealth of experience having worked in school and district effectiveness in Virginia, Florida and, most recently, with the Georgia Department of Education. We’re thrilled to have her join our senior leadership team and look forward to the impact she’ll have on student achievement,” Dyer said.
