Carl Hendrick Named DCSS Chief Information Officer

The Dougherty County Board of Education voted at its May 8 meeting to name Carl Hendrick the current assistant superintendent of a 40,000 student, 41-school district in northeast Florida, as the district’s chief information officer.
As CIO, Hendrick will oversee the district’s technology infrastructure and will be expected to address technology needs and implement technology solutions to support instruction, instructional support, as well as administrative and business operations within the district.
"It's an honor to be selected as the new chief information officer," Hendrick said. "I'm excited about becoming a contributing member of the Dougherty community and making a positive impact on student success."
Mr. Hendrick has most recently served as assistant superintendent of Information and Technology Services for Clay County District Schools supporting 41 schools, approximately 40,000 students, and 5,000 employees in northeast Florida.

He also served in the role of director of Information Services at CCDS leading the transformation of services resulting in model technologies.
Before Clay County, Carl served a consortium of 15 small and rural school districts as an educator support services manager for application development, EvenStart family literacy coordinator, workforce development coordinator, and regional service project coordinator for the Florida Department of Education.
He began his career as a high school Science teacher as well as a football and track coach before serving as a district content specialist for Math and Science. Carl has also served on various state and national association boards and advisory councils.
He has current certifications in 6 Sigma, Agile/Scrum, Google Educator, and holds a Florida Professional Educator's certificate. He has earned a Master of Science of Strategic Leadership in Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.
