The Dougherty County Board of Education recognized two DCSS schools for earning high honors for academic success at its May 8 board meeting.

International Studies Elementary Charter School and Lincoln Elementary Magnet School were each named Title I Reward High-Progress Schools by the Georgia Department of Education.

  • A High-Progress School is among the 10 percent of the state’s Title I schools making the most progress in improving the performance of the “all students” group over three years on statewide assessments. A school may not be classified as a High-Progress School if it has been identified as a Priority or Focus School.

ISECS Principal Dr. Zeda George accepted the board's recognition on behalf of the students and staff and Lincoln Principal Dr. Todd Deariso accepted the award on behalf of his students and staff.
