Good Weather and Music Draws Crowd to 15th Albany Mardi Gras

“Chamber of commerce weather.” It’s a cliche, but it was fitting Saturday as Albany’s 15th annual Mardi Gras combined food, music and ideal weather to draw a large crowd from across the region for one of the city’s signature events.
“It’s been a great day so far,” event organizer Phil Cannon said around 2 p.m. “I did a quick walk through of the crowd and I estimated we already had 15 percent more people than last year. We’ll have even more people in here as the day goes on.”
