Deerfield-Windsor Names Lower School Director

Deerfield-Windsor School Headmaster Dave Davies announced the appointment of Kathrin (Kathy) Meskell as Lower School Director effective July 1, 2016. Ms. Meskell was selected from over twenty candidates for the position.

A graduate of Furman University, Ms. Meskell earned her Master of Education degree in Special Education from Georgia State University.  She has also studied at Azusa Pacific University and Mercer University and expects to complete her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Mercer this summer. Ms. Meskell is also a graduate of the Leadership Woodward program.

Currently a teacher in the sixth grade transition program at Woodward Academy North Campus in Johns Creek, Georgia, Ms. Meskell has also taught second grade, primary science, middle school, and high school in several other private and public schools.  She directs Woodward’s highly successful Odyssey of the Mind Program and has served as summer science camp director and Odyssey of the Mind Summer Camp Director.

Ms. Meskell has three children, Alex, Jared, and Cora.  Alex lives in Boone, North Carolina; Jared recently graduated from the University of Alabama; and Cora is a sophomore at Auburn University.
