The Deerfield-Windsor School Literary Team, coached by Lindsey Stewart, successfully defended their State Championship Tuesday at Valdosta State University.

The team was led by first place finishes by Hadden Kelley and Emma Goldsmith, duo interpretation; Lacey Coleman, humorous interpretation; Larkin Carden, dramatic interpretation; Taylor Richter, boys solo; and Helena Augenstein, spelling.

The girls trio of Hannah Sims, Samaria Bridges, and Kenzie Copeland finished second, while the boys quartet of Taylor Richter, Reed Reynolds, Ryan Williams, and Hadden Kelley finished third.  Emily Pursel was also third in personal essay.

Yvonne Ramos finished fourth in piano solo, and Brooke Timmerman was fourth in rhetorical analysis.
