Battelle has instituted two partial scholarships at Deerfield-Windsor School though its Battelle Foundation.

The $20,000 grant provides two partial-tuition scholarships to excellent science/mathematics students and to introduce them to opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields.

Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic excellence, and promise, especially in science and mathematics.  Students of color will receive priority consideration.

Industrialist Gordon Battelle provided for the Battelle Memorial Institute in his 1923 last will and testament after a career devoted to the idea that science and research can solve problems in business and society as a whole. Today, Battelle’s shared values are founded on the belief that superior business performance and high ethical and community standards can go hand-in-hand.

Battelle is committed to diversity, professional development and the notion of unity without uniformity. The communities where Battelle is located benefit from philanthropic and volunteer activities.

Battelle’s mission includes a strong charitable commitment to community development and education and supports staff volunteer efforts; STEM education programs and philanthropic projects in the communities we serve
