New Schedule Set for Local GDOL Satellite Offices
Press release from the issuing company
Wednesday, July 30th, 2014
Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) satellite offices in Sylvester and Dawson will be open one day a week, effective Aug. 1, to provide employment-related services to residents of Worth and Terrell counties.
The Sylvester satellite, located at 204 East Franklin St., will be open each Monday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Dawson satellite, located at 127 West Lee St., will be open each Tuesday during the same hours.
Prior to the new schedule, the Dawson satellite office was open Mondays and Tuesdays, while the Sylvester satellite was open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The schedules were adjusted to better meet the needs of a reduced number of customers using the satellite offices.
Both offices are satellites of the GDOL’s Albany Career Center. Each satellite is staffed by one person from the Albany Career Center who assists customers with employment-related services such as job search, career development, and resume-writing.
Unemployment insurance (UI) claims and job orders from employers are not taken in satellite offices. Customers in need of those services will continue to use the Albany Career Center, located at 1608 South Slappey Bloulevard.
For additional information about the satellite offices, contact Catherine Hogg, manager of the Albany Career Center, at (229) 430-5010.
