Robert Powell of ProNet Answers: What is Managed Services & How Can it Help My Business?

ProNet's Robert Powell talks about managed services and what it means to business owners.

I’m Robert Powell with Professional Networking here in Albany, Georgia.  Over the last few years a lot of different types of technology have come into play for businesses who want to reduce IT calls.  And the term that you hear a good bit is Managed Services.  We are a Managed Services provider.  And by managed services what I mean is that we take over your entire infrastructure, your computers, your printers, your servers, your switches, your firewall protection, and place them in a monitoring environment which amounts to 24-hour monitoring environment.

And with Managed Services everything becomes proactive rather than reactive.  All of the Managed Services services really run behind the scenes when your employees are working and your servers are running and do not disrupt anything.  By this we can correct issues even before your employees notice it; malware, spyware, all of that can be corrected and prevented.  Or if a piece of malware or spyware gets on a piece of equipment, the user knows about it; while at the same time we’d know about it, and corrective measures automatically taken to erase it or remove it from their workstation, server, or whatever machine it happens to be on.
