I’m Debbie Finney.  I’m the Area Director for the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center.  Our office is in Albany, Georgia, but we serve 27 Southwest Georgia counties, and we provide business consulting services to help Georgia businesses grow.  There’s no fee for our services.  We are a part of the public service, part of the University of Georgia.  Our consultants have a business background and a Master’s in business, and we work with business owners from everything from accounting, financial analysis, marketing strategies, human resource issues.  Whatever the business owner needs to be successful and grow the business, we have a consultant to work with the business owner on that.

And the great thing about our office resource-wise is that there’s 17 offices throughout the state, so if we need a particular consultant with a certain expertise, we have tons of expertise throughout the state to work with us on a project.  And what does this mean for business owners in Southwest Georgia?  We are a resource that a lot of business owners do not know about but we are here for them.  So we like to work and we love for business owners to call us just to see how we might help them.  Whether they need a loan proposal to go to the bank, or an HR book for their employees, please use us as a resource.  Our office is on Pine.  We go out to business locations.  We also offer continuing education and we try to keep up to date on all business topics.  So we’re ready to serve when needed.
