My name is Catherine Glover.  I’m the Executive Vice President for Global Affairs for Equinox Chemicals, and as of about a week ago also the Executive Vice President for a company called Adco OnSite Fabricare.  Now Equinox Chemicals has been in existence since about 2003.  Its founder, Mark Grimaldi, was one of the employees that came from Merck and, of course, who’s got some great scientists, and chemists, and process engineers, and chemical engineers.  And many great folks have decided to stay right here in Albany when Merck closed here.  

Mark is a very entrepreneurial sort of soul and thinks big picture, but most importantly, Mark thinks about staying here in Albany, increasing our offerings here, increasing the workforce, and just bringing people to a place where he and all of his employees, including me, find to be a very strong and positive quality of life.  

So besides Equinox Chemicals which is located on West Oakridge, we also have recently taken a lease out on the old McGregor Building at Pecan Grove Industrial Park, right across from the airport which is great for us as manufacturers.  There we have our company that we purchased back in January called Adco, and Adco is a cleaning supply, dry cleaning supply, industrial and janitorial supply company that we purchased from Sedalia, Missouri.  And what’s important here is that we moved the manufacturing facility here to Albany, we moved workers here, we brought in new employees as well.

Quality control is something that Equinox prides itself on, and having our manufacturing facility right here in Albany allows us to maintain that level that we take so seriously when we reach out to our global community.  And, of course, quality control in manufacturing and in chemical production, in particular, is very, very serious business, so it’s important that we have it right here.  So for more information on our family of companies, you can go to www.eqxchem.com.
