I'm Jackie Sizemore with Backwoods Outdoors. I think a big positive to a store would be to change the looks of the store. If you go into a store day after day‑‑and we've got a lot of people that do; they come every day or every other day‑‑if that store stays the same, it will gravitate you to one certain thing and then back out of the store.

You've got to keep it fresh, keep it moving around, keep it new, so that it's interesting to people when they walk in the door. And a way of doing that's just actually getting out there and just reorganizing things and coming up with better ways to do things. And it keeps it interesting to people. Also, if you've got a new product, you can kind of showcase it towards the front, and then next week it might be something else.

I've actually had instances where I've had certain kind of jackets for probably four or five months, and all of a sudden I move them to the front and I've had people, "When did you all get these in?" They're not new. We just move things around. But I think it's real important to keep things moving like that, so you won't get stagnant.

The deal with guns, to have guns on the wall, if you don't have guns on the wall, you're not getting traffic in your store. They want to come. They want to see the guns. Now, are you going to ever have all the guns that it takes to satisfy anybody? No, you never will. You'll have the gun they want, but it won't be the right color, it won't be the right scope on it, it won't be the right length. It doesn't matter.

You need them on the wall, because when they walk in the door, they want to look at a bunch of guns. And that takes up a lot of your inventory, (buying power,) to put those guns on the wall, but you've got to have them, because people, they're shopping, they want to see it. And hopefully they're going to see everything else that you've got, besides just the guns.
