New Walmart Fulfillment Center in Georgia to Create 1,000 New Jobs

Walmart broke ground Monday on an approximately 1.5 million-square-foot fulfillment center in Carnesville. The $1.3 billion project is expected to create 1,000 full-time jobs to north Georgia.
The Carnesville facility is Walmart's sixth next-generation fulfillment center. The site will combine machine learning and automation technology with site associates to increase order capacity for Walmart.com and expand access to same-day and next-day shipping.
The facility, which will be at 10725 Old Federal Road in Carnesville, will feature an automated, high-density storage and retrieval system.
