Clifton Bush, Chief Operating Officer at Albany Area Primary Health Care (AAPHC), has been named to the Board of Directors of Georgians for a Healthy Future, a statewide organization dedicated to advancing health equity and increasing access to quality, affordable health care for all Georgians.
Since its founding in 2008, Georgians for a Healthy Future has partnered with communities and organizations across the state to advance policies that improve health outcomes and promote equity. The organization provides health policy information and resources to community leaders, consumers, advocates, and stakeholders; offers educational programs that empower consumers to become effective advocates; elevates the consumer perspective in health care discussions; and works with policymakers to build a healthier Georgia.
"It is an honor to serve on the Board of Directors for Georgians for a Healthy Future," said Bush. "My work at AAPHC allows me to make a positive impact on the health of the community where I live and work. Serving with Georgians for a Healthy Future provides an opportunity to extend that commitment and advocate for greater access to quality health care for communities across our state."
A native of Albany, Georgia, Bush earned a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Albany State University in December 2004. He later earned a Master of Science in Health Care Management from Troy University in May 2006.
As Chief Operating Officer of AAPHC, Bush oversees the day-to-day operations of one of Southwest Georgia's largest community health systems, serving patients across 30 locations. He is actively involved in numerous professional and community organizations, including the National Network for Oral Health Access Board of Directors and the 4C Academy Foundation Board. Bush also serves as an adjunct professor at Albany Technical College.
"Clifton has led AAPHC with compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to expanding access to quality care for our patients," said Shelley Spires, Chief Executive Officer of AAPHC. "This appointment is a natural extension of his commitment to improving health outcomes and strengthening access to care, not only in our community but throughout Georgia.
We are proud to have Clifton on the AAPHC team and celebrate this well-deserved achievement."
