Albany Technical College will host its annual Future Stars of Healthcare Open House on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Healthcare Technology Building on the Albany Technical College campus. The event is designed for prospective students, families, adult learners and career changers interested in exploring education and career opportunities in healthcare.

Future Stars of Healthcare gives visitors an opportunity to experience Albany Tech's healthcare programs up close through program displays, lab tours, demonstrations and conversations with faculty and students. Admissions and financial aid representatives will also be available to help prospective students understand the steps involved in beginning their education at Albany Technical College.

“This event gives prospective students an opportunity to go beyond simply reading about a program and actually see where they could be learning and preparing for their future,” said Dr. Emmett L. Griswold, President of Albany Technical College. “They can meet our faculty, see our training environments, ask questions and begin connecting their interest in healthcare with a clear educational and career pathway.”

Healthcare programs featured during the event include Dental Assisting, Health Information Management Technology, Medical Assisting, Nurse Aide, Nursing, Paramedicine Technology, Pharmacy Technology, Phlebotomy, Practical Nursing, Radiologic Technology and Surgical Technology.

The event also addresses the continuing need for qualified healthcare professionals throughout Southwest Georgia. Hospitals, medical offices, clinics and other healthcare providers depend on a steady pipeline of trained workers to meet the needs of patients and communities across the region. Events such as Future Stars of Healthcare introduce prospective students to these career opportunities while connecting them with the education and training needed to enter the healthcare workforce.

Albany Technical College uses the annual open house to help prospective students move from initial career interest to understanding program options, admissions, financial aid, training and career preparation. The event also provides an opportunity for families, educators and community partners to learn more about the healthcare programs available locally.
