Dougherty County District 3 Commissioner Clinton Johnson has been appointed to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Board of Directors as an At-Large Board Member, allowing him to represent Georgia and counties across the nation.

He was appointed by newly elected National Association of Counties President George Dunlap after the Annual Conference and will serve a one-year term. Johnson will help shape NACo’s policies, advocate for county priorities, and strengthen local government.

The appointment highlights Johnson’s longstanding leadership at all levels of government. A former president of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia, Johnson has been a respected advocate for county government.

“Serving on the National Association of Counties Board of Directors is a tremendous honor and an opportunity to represent both Dougherty County and Georgia on the national stage,” Johnson said. “I look forward to working with county leaders nationwide to strengthen local government. This appointment ensures Georgia continues to lead in national policy discussions while amplifying Southwest Georgia’s voice.”
