Google Announces New Data Center in LaGrange
Thursday, April 23rd, 2026
Google plans to develop a new data center in LaGrange, the company announced on Tuesday.
The center at 411 Pegasus Parkway, which is already under construction, will power Google searches, Google Maps, YouTube and other digital platforms. Once completed, it will be Google’s second data center in the state, with an existing complex in Lithia Springs.
LaGrange City Manager Patrick Bowie said the move fills a void left by the closure of the city’s largest electric customer, Jindal Films Americas LCC. The company, which produces films used in packaging, closed its LaGrange plant in 2024.
“We are excited to welcome Google to LaGrange and look forward to their partnership with our community,” Bowie said. “We are working with their team to invest in infrastructure improvements that will benefit all utility customers while exerting downward pressure on rates.”
