Draffin Tucker Welcomes Scott Schlau and Terri Ramey into Partnership

Draffin Tucker is pleased to announce the admission of Scott Schlau and Terri Ramey as Partners of the firm, effective January 1, 2026. Their promotions recognize years of professional growth, technical expertise, and sustained contributions to client service within the Charleston market, following the 2024 combination of Baldwin & Associates with Draffin Tucker.

Scott Schlau

Scott joined Draffin Tucker in 2007, beginning his career with the firm as an intern and building his expertise within the tax practice over the past 18 years. He specializes in a wide range of tax services, including real estate partnerships, closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and foreign disclosure reporting. In addition to preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, Scott has played an important role in training staff and improving efficiencies across the firm.

Scott is a licensed CPA in the state of South Carolina and holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Management Science from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s in Accountancy from the College of Charleston. Outside the firm, Scott is active in the community, currently serving on the finance committee of the Lowcountry Land Trust and previously serving as Treasurer of the East Cooper Land Trust. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, reading, podcasts, discovering new restaurants, and cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Terri Ramey

Terri joined Draffin Tucker in 2017 and brings more than 30 years of accounting experience to the firm. A licensed CPA in the states of South Carolina and New Jersey, Terri focuses on delivering exceptional client service across a broad range of tax services. Her expertise includes federal and state taxation, trusts and estates, multi-state tax, tax compliance, small businesses, and high-net-worth family groups.

Terri earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The Ohio State University and previously built her career in the New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania tri-state area before relocating to South Carolina. She is actively involved in recruiting and mentoring emerging professionals in the accounting field and has served in leadership and volunteer roles with numerous nonprofit organizations and finance committees. Terri has been recognized by Women in Business Charleston and for her volunteer service with various nonprofit organizations. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, hiking, gardening, museums, reading, attending sporting events, and traveling.
