Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, February 20th, 2026

Albany Technical College (ATC) announces Engineering Week 2026, a three-day celebration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), taking place February 24-26, 2026, on the ATC campus. The event will welcome K-12 students from across the region for engaging, hands-on STEM activities designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and interest in future engineering and technical careers.

Engineering Week activities will be held daily from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and are structured by grade level to ensure age-appropriate learning experiences:

Students will rotate through interactive STEM stations featuring robotics, drones, electronics, engineering design challenges, automation technologies, and other real-world applications of engineering concepts. Activities are led by ATC faculty, staff, and STEM partners, offering students direct exposure to college-level labs, equipment, and career pathways.

“Engineering Week is about sparking imagination and showing students, at every grade level, that engineering and technology are exciting, accessible, and achievable,” said Dennis Courtney, Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology at Albany Technical College. “We want students to see themselves as future engineers, technicians, and problem-solvers.”

Reservations are required for all participating student groups, as space is limited to ensure a high-quality, hands-on experience. Schools and organizations are encouraged to register early to secure their preferred date.
