Young Marines Shine with Southeast Regimental Awards

The Young Marines organization proudly recognizes the outstanding dedication and leadership of its youth members and volunteers across the Southeast Regiment of Division 2, which includes Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, with the announcement of the 2025–2026 Southeast Regimental Awards.
This year’s honorees embody the Young Marines’ core values of leadership, discipline, and service, setting a high standard of excellence within their communities and the organization. Their commitment continues to strengthen the mission of the Young Marines and inspire youth to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
2025–2026 Southeast Regiment Senior Young Marine of the Year
YM/SSgt Daniel Crump – Albany Young Marines (Albany, GA)
Young Marine Staff Sergeant Daniel Crump has been named the Southeast Regiment Senior Young Marine of the Year.
A member of the Albany Young Marines since 2020, YM/SSgt Crump has completed Senior Leadership School and has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, discipline, and mentorship among his peers.
2025–2026 Southeast Regiment Junior Young Marine of the Year
YM/Cpl Janet Lamar – Northwest Georgia Young Marines (Villa Rica, GA)
Young Marine Corporal Janet Lamar has been selected as the Southeast Regiment Junior Young Marine of the Year.
Joining the Northwest Georgia Young Marines in 2023, YM/Cpl Lamar has successfully completed Junior Leadership School and stands out for her leadership, teamwork, and positive example to fellow Young Marines.
2025–2026 Southeast Regiment Adult Volunteer of the Year
Mrs. Vivian Dyer – Cumberland County Young Marines (Crossville, TN)
Mrs. Vivian Dyer of the Cumberland County Young Marines has been named the Southeast Regiment Adult Volunteer of the Year. A dedicated volunteer since September 2019, Mrs. Dyer has given years of selfless service to support youth development, leadership training, and community involvement throughout her unit and region.
2025–2026 Southeast Regiment Unit of the Year
Albany Young Marines – Albany, GA
The Albany Young Marines have been recognized as the 2025–2026 Southeast Regiment Unit of the Year for the second consecutive year. Located near Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany (MCLB Albany), the unit has demonstrated consistent excellence in leadership, community engagement, and mission performance. Earlier in April 2025, the Albany Young Marines were also honored as the 2025 National Unit of the Year, a prestigious recognition within the national Young Marines program.
