Albany State University (ASU) will celebrate the achievements of more than 700 graduates during its Fall 2025 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, December 13, at 9 a.m. at the Albany Civic Center. Doors will open at 8 a.m., and the academic processional will begin promptly at 9 a.m.

This year’s ceremony will recognize certificate, associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree candidates who have demonstrated academic excellence, perseverance, and a commitment to the mission and values of Albany State University.

The keynote speaker for the Fall 2025 Commencement is Eric Heyward, an ASU Class of 2005 alumnus, accomplished entrepreneur, strategist, and community leader whose work bridges business, culture, and innovation.
As the Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer of Talley & Twine Watch Company, Heyward has helped transform a bold idea into one of the nation’s most recognized Black-owned luxury watch brands. Built on the principles of legacy, precision, and representation, Talley & Twine has become a symbol of achievement and self-determination for professionals and tastemakers around the world.

Heyward’s connection to Albany State University runs deep. As the visionary leader behind RamFest, ASU’s annual homecoming festival, he reimagined the traditional celebration into a large-scale experience that unites students, alumni, and the greater Albany community. Through strategic partnerships and creative programming, RamFest has become a platform for school pride, small business growth, and cultural expression that reflects the spirit of Albany State and its enduring commitment to excellence. He also believes in giving back to the university by donating to the ASU Foundation, and serving as a sponsor for ASU Athletics.

Beyond business, Heyward serves as a senior executive leader at RenderATL, one of the nation’s premier tech and culture conferences, where he works to bridge the gap between technology, entrepreneurship, and creative innovation. His work fosters collaboration and promotes greater representation and opportunity for diverse professionals in the tech ecosystem.
