A Phoebe Labor & Deliver nurse has been named the August 2025 DAISY Award winner at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The DAISY Award honors extraordinary nurses who provide compassionate, skillful care that goes above and beyond patient and family expectations.

Keagen Carson received two heartfelt patient nominations that highlighted her commitment to providing excellent clinical care, as well as displaying kindness and emotional support in critical moments.

One nomination praised Carson’s ability to put her patient’s heart and mind at ease, describing her as attentive, calm, and encouraging throughout the patient’s hospital experience.

“She’s amazing. Thank you so much for being an excellent nurse that is really in tune with her patients, but also for being the kind and caring soul that you are,” the nomination read.

Another patient shared how Carson’s skill and advocacy helped during a delivery that led to an emergency C-section, crediting her with saving both the patient’s and baby’s life.

“I’m just so thankful and grateful for this nurse. With the heartfelt thank you that I have for her and her team, they saved my life and my son’s life that day,” the patient wrote.
