MCLB Albany Marines Participate in Marine Week Atlanta to Celebrate 250th Birthday

Dozens of Marines from Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany joined other Marines from across the Corps to celebrate the upcoming 250th Birthday of the Marine Corps, Aug. 29-Sept. 1.
The overall event featured various types of military equipment, physical training sessions, Marine Corps band performances, school and other visits, aircraft flyovers, tailgating, wreath laying ceremony, Marine Corps silent drill platoon performances, community relations projects across the city and a football game.
Every handshake, every smile, and every story shared reminds the Marines why they serve.
Sgt. Madison Giese, military police officer, MCLB Albany, reenlisted and the oath of enlistment was administered by SgtMaj. Carlos Ruiz, sergeant major of the Marine Corps.
Founded on November 10, 1775, the United States Marine Corps had served in every clime and place for 250 years. Throughout 2025, the Marine Corps will host public events and celebrations across the country.
