District 6 Commissioner Anthony Jones will host a Town Hall Meeting to discuss House Bill 581 and the Floating Homestead Exemption on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Dougherty County Government Center 222 Pine Avenue Room 1oo. 

The meeting will provide residents an opportunity to learn more about these pieces of legislation and their potential impact on homeowners. Staff from the Dougherty County Tax Department will be present to explain details, answer questions, and guide residents through the changes.

“This meeting is about making sure our residents have the facts they need to make informed decisions,” said Commissioner Jones. “We want to ensure that the community understands how H.B. 581 and the Floating Homestead Exemption may affect them and their families.”

The event is open to all District 6 residents and members of the Dougherty County community.
