AmeriPro Health Inks New Emergency Services Agreement With Terrell County
Friday, August 8th, 2025
AmeriPro Health, an industry leader in emergency services, patient logistics, and technology-driven healthcare services, announced today it has been awarded a contract to provide emergency ambulance services in Terrell County, Georgia. The Terrell County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the multi-year agreement, which follows AmeriPro’s recent takeover of EMS services in neighboring Sumter and Randolph Counties.
AmeriPro will provide two advanced life support (ALS) ambulance trucks 24 hours a day, along with a full suite of advanced technology and equipment, including state-of-the-art cardiac monitoring, two LUCAS devices capable of delivering automated chest compressions during a cardiac arrest, and other high-tech patient care tools
AmeriPro is expected to hire 12 paramedics and EMTs under the new contract. The move expands the company’s South Georgia footprint to 11 counties totaling 337 employees.
The new contract marks the county’s transition from a government-run to a private EMS provider, reflecting a growing trend that AmeriPro is pioneering across the state of Georgia. The emerging model enables shared staffing, mutual aid, and significantly faster response times compared to individual, publicly run services that have been hampered by cost pressures, staffing shortages, and quality-of-care concerns.
AmeriPro has overseen successful public-to-private EMS transitions in Upson, Pike, and Lamar counties over the last few years.
More than 8,000 residents live in Terrell County, which is home to Dawson Medical Center.
"We are collectively taking a forward-thinking step that will bring urban-level emergency response times to Terrell County,” said Wilbur T. Gamble, chairman of the Terrell County Board of Commissioners. “By partnering with AmeriPro, we’re not only improving our local ambulance coverage and staffing capacity, but also creating a replicable model for other rural counties seeking sustainable, high-quality EMS solutions.”
In addition to its activity in Georgia, AmeriPro has bolstered its national footprint in recent months after acquiring Nebraska-based Priority Transport while expanding into new markets in Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan.
Established in 2018 in the Metro Atlanta area as a tech-enabled emergency service provider, AmeriPro Health has rapidly grown to more than 1,500 employees across ten states.
