Thursday, August 7th, 2025
Albany State University (ASU) is proud to announce an increase in enrollment for Summer 2025, reflecting continued progress in student access and success.
ASU’s total summer enrollment reached 3,604 students, a 5.34% increase from 3,421 in Summer 2024. This growth includes notable gains in both undergraduate and graduate populations and highlights the university’s ongoing commitment to serving a diverse and growing student body.
Graduate enrollment saw the most significant growth, increasing 12.44% from 386 students in Summer 2024 to 434 in Summer 2025. Enrollment by gender also reflected a positive trend, with female enrollment increasing by 6.16% (from 2,614 to 2,775), and male enrollment growing by 2.73% (from 807 to 829).
“These numbers demonstrate the effectiveness of our summer initiatives and the strength of our academic programs,” said ASU President, Dr. Robert Scott. “We’re especially encouraged by the growth in graduate enrollment and the continued participation of our returning and new students during the summer term.”
As part of its summer programming, ASU welcomed 75 incoming freshmen into the Summer Success Academy, a six-week residential experience that allows students to earn college credit, connect with peers, and prepare for a strong first year. Academy participants take 6–7 credit hours and receive personalized academic support from faculty, advisors, and peer mentors.
Additionally, ASU hosted New Student Orientation for 1,109 first-time freshmen, preparing students for academic life and connecting them with key campus resources.
The university also extended its impact to younger learners through more than 10 free summer camps for middle and high school students, serving over 1,000 participants. These camps introduced students to college life and helped build academic and leadership skills in a fun and supportive environment.
From early engagement to graduate education, Albany State University continues to expand access to transformative learning experiences that prepare students to thrive.
