The Fred Taylor Company (FTC), one of Georgia’s largest privately held transportation and warehousing firms, is proud to announce that Wells Harris has joined the company as Investment Officer, marking the third generation of family leadership within the organization.

Harris is the grandson of FTC founder Fred Taylor, who established the company in 1959. His uncle, Mark Taylor, currently serves as company president, and his mother, Marsha Taylor, Executive Vice President, plays a key leadership role overseeing the company’s real estate and fixed assets.

“Welcoming Wells to the company is a proud moment for our family,” said Mark Taylor, President of FTC. “He brings valuable experience in finance and real estate, and more importantly, he understands the principles that have shaped this business for more than 65 years.”

Harris graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in finance. Before joining FTC, he worked for Harris Group, a commercial real estate development firm based in Atlanta. There, he gained hands-on experience in property management, lease administration, market research and real estate investment.

Since coming on board at FTC last year, Harris has worked closely with senior leaders across the company’s divisions, supporting investment management, real estate initiatives and long-term strategic planning in his role as Investment Officer.

“I’ve always known how much this company means to my family and the communities we serve,” said Harris. “It’s an honor to be part of the next chapter and to contribute to building on the foundation my grandfather started more than six decades ago.”

Founded in 1959, FTC has grown into one of Georgia’s largest privately held transportation and warehousing firms, and over 20 company-owned facilities across Georgia and Alabama. Its largest division, Interstate NationaLease, provides full-service truck and trailer leasing, maintenance and repair services from 15 locations.

FTC also owns and manages over a million square feet of commercial warehouse space in Albany and Thomasville through its Interstate Warehouse Services division. Through JFT Properties, the company maintains a diverse real estate portfolio comprising commercial and residential properties across Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana.

“FTC has always been a family business, built on integrity, hard work and strong relationships,” said Marsha Taylor. “We’re excited to see Wells step into this role and help guide the company’s future.”

As FTC looks ahead, the company remains committed to expanding its reach through strategic growth while honoring the family-driven values that have been the foundation of its success.
