Robert A. Cross Middle Magnet School Among Six South GA Schools Recognized by the State
Friday, May 2nd, 2025
Six South Georgia schools have received awards for high academic performance and/or high academic growth.
According to the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA), the office develops the award criteria under the Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) Awards. GOSA presents them for approval to the State Board of Education.
The winners were announced on April 1 and will receive a certificate to display in their school.
GOSA used the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) data from the three most recent school years (2018-19, 2022-23, 2023-24) to determine SSAS awards in two categories: Greatest Gains and Highest Performing. Each award category has four tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, according to GOSA.
The following South Georgia schools have been selected for the 2024 SSAS Award Schools—Greatest Gains Award:
-
Robert A. Cross Middle Magnet in Dougherty County: Bronze tier
-
Terrell High School in Terrell County received the Platinum tier
