The Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the hiring of Jansen Tidmore as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. With more than a decade of proven success in collaborative business leadership and private sector growth strategies, Tidmore steps into the role as the Chamber marks its 180th year serving the Columbus business community.

A native of Dothan, Alabama, Tidmore brings deep experience in both business and community revitalization, having led business development efforts in top roles across Alabama, South Carolina, and most recently, Colorado. His appointment signals a continued commitment to business-driven growth, innovation and collaboration for Georgia’s second-largest city.

“For nearly 200 years, the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce has helped to shape the voice of business for our city,” said Mayor Skip Henderson. “As Columbus continues to grow and evolve, this new leadership will help us to seize new opportunities and build on the momentum we’ve created across the region.”

Over the course of his career, Tidmore has helped drive more than $12 billion in capital investment and the creation of over 15,000 new jobs in the communities he’s served. His partnership-forward approach is rooted in the belief that access to quality jobs is the cornerstone of a healthy community.

Before joining the Chamber, Tidmore served as President & CEO of the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation (Jeffco EDC) in Colorado. There, he oversaw the integration of the West Metro Chamber and Leadership Jeffco into the organization, creating a more unified voice for business and economic growth.

He has also served in key leadership roles with the Spartanburg Downtown Development Partnership and the Dothan Downtown Redevelopment Authority, where he built dynamic coalitions to spur downtown revitalization, entrepreneurship and workforce development.

“Accepting the CEO position at the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce is a profound honor,” said Tidmore. “With a remarkable 180-year legacy and a strong foundation built by visionary leaders, the Chamber stands at a pivotal point within the region. I look forward to working alongside our diverse membership, community partners, and the talented Chamber team to elevate Columbus’s economic vitality and quality of life. Together, by forging strategic partnerships and driving innovation across our diverse sectors, we will shape a prosperous future for Columbus.”

Tidmore holds a Bachelors and Master of Public Administration from Auburn University and began his career in the private sector, with experience in construction, retail, hospitality and local media. He is actively involved in numerous civic and professional boards, including higher education, housing, smart city initiatives and historic preservation.

He and his wife Laura, a Montessori-certified teacher, are proud parents to two daughters in 10th and 6th grade. When not in the office, Tidmore enjoys watching his daughters participate in theater performances and soccer matches.
