Sowega Council on Aging Hosts Regional Ombudsman Training

The Sowega Council on Aging (SCOA), in partnership with the Georgia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, is hosting the Annual Personal Care Home/Assisted Living Community (PCH/ALC) Training on Wednesday, April 9, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm at the SCOA Regional Resource Center, 335 W. Society Ave., Albany, GA 31701.

This essential training is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of long-term care professionals, equipping them to support the highest quality of life for their residents. The event will feature expert speakers from the Healthcare Facility Regulation Division, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and the Georgia Legal Services Program.

"We are excited to bring together experts in healthcare and legal services to share valuable knowledge that can directly impact the well-being of long-term care residents," said Kaleena Morgan, Long Term Care Ombudsman Representative & Program Coordinator, South Region. "This training is a great opportunity for professionals to stay informed, connect with peers and gain practical insights they can apply in their facilities."

Attendees will benefit from valuable insights on regulatory compliance, healthcare practices and legal considerations in long-term care settings. Participants will also receive a Certificate of Participation upon completion of the training.
