Phoebe Putney Health System is expanding its telehealth services through its urgent care clinics to better serve patients across southwest Georgia. “Telehealth allows us to bring expert medical care directly to our patients, no matter where they are. Phoebe Urgent Care currently has four locations, with plans to expand in the future. The clinics offer extended hours and are appropriate when patients need prompt medical attention for injuries and illnesses that don’t require a trip to the emergency room. Some of the most common conditions treated at Phoebe Urgent Care include upper respiratory infections, pink eye, earaches, UTIs, and strep throat, as well as sprains, strains, minor broken bones and cuts requiring minor stitching.

“Our evening and weekend hours and multiple locations provide convenient options for patients seeking urgent care, but, when it’s appropriate, the ability to schedule a virtual appointment with a provider is an extra layer of convenience. Some patients may not be

able to leave home, or they just may not feel like getting out, so a telehealth appointment is a quick, easy and accommodating way to get the care and medication they need,” Marcus explained.
