Men in Healthcare: Albany Tech Event Challenges Stereotypes and Inspires Careers
Thursday, March 20th, 2025
Albany Technical College (ATC) is trying to fill the growing number of job vacancies throughout the healthcare industry by hosting events to get students interested in the industry. In an effort to attract more men to the healthcare field, Albany Tech will be hosting a panel discussion called “Are You Man Enough to be in Healthcare?” on March 20th at 5:30 pm at the Phoebe Living and Learning Community.
Professional representatives from various healthcare fields will be present to answer questions and discuss some of the challenges they have experienced and overcome on their journey into the field. These representatives include Dr. Lorenzo Carson, Radiologist (Phoebe Putney Hospital); Dr. Morris Clarington, Dean of Academic Affairs for Nursing & Allied Health (Albany Technical College); Allen Grant, Jr., Clinical Coordinator for the Radiologic Technology program (Albany Technical College); Kisean Huggins, Area Operations Director (Dialysis Clinic Incorporated) and Nikenson Charles, Nursing Student (Albany Technical College).
The event is sponsored by the Department of Education’s Student Wellness: Mental, Academic & Physical Preparedness PBI Grant under the direction of Lashea Dancer, Project Director.
The event is open to the public, and we invite men of all ages to attend and explore the many career opportunities available in healthcare. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions, network with professionals, and gain insights into how they can make a difference in the lives of patients and communities.
