Georgia Braces for Intense Wildfire Season, Officials Say

It was a busy weekend for firefighters as they battled over 100 fires in the Peach State. Despite containment efforts, several fires are still active. Officials are urging residents that the risk for more fires continues as conditions worsen.
According to the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC), nearly 140 fires burned 2,400 acres in the central Georgia region alone on Saturday.
