Dougherty County Deputy Clerk Bristeria Clark continues to make remarkable strides in her career and community involvement. She recently completed all educational requirements to become a certified clerk at the 2025 Georgia Clerks Education Institute (GCEI) Conference, hosted by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

The annual conference brings together clerks from across the state to enhance their skills, expand their knowledge, and uphold the highest standards of public service. Clark’s achievement reflects her dedication to professional development and her commitment to serving Dougherty County with excellence.

“I have worked hard to complete this certification, and I look forward to continue operating with excellence and enhancing my skills,” Clark said. “I am grateful for the support from my team and am excited to bring new ideas back to our community.”

Clark’s list of achievements doesn’t stop there. Clark serves as the District 10 Director for the Georgia County Clerk Association. She was also recognized as one of the top four finalists in the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Albany Under 40 awards. She is actively involved in several organizations including 9to5 Georgia, 1K Women Strong, Mom Rising, YFAB (Youth and Family Advisory Board, Georgia CAB (Community Advisory Board), Georgians for a Healthy Future and many more. This prestigious recognition highlights her exceptional leadership, community involvement, and professional accomplishments.

Further demonstrating her dedication to community service and maternal health, Clark graduated from the Morehouse School of Medicine Perinatal Patient Navigator program as part of its first cohort of rural doulas. Her training equips her with specialized knowledge to support maternal and infant health in rural communities, underscoring her passion for making a positive impact beyond her role in county government.

As Deputy County Clerk, Clark plays a crucial role in maintaining official records, supporting the Board of Commissioners, and ensuring transparency and accessibility for the public. Her certification and multiple recognitions reinforce her expertise and enhance her ability to serve the county efficiently.

County Administrator Deron King congratulated Clark on her achievements, noting her hard work and dedication to the role.

“Bristeria’s commitment to professional growth sets a positive example for our team and strengthens the services we provide to our citizens,” King said.

The Carl Vinson Institute of Government’s certification program is recognized statewide as a benchmark of excellence for clerks. It includes a rigorous curriculum focused on public administration, record-keeping, and government procedures.
