Albany Technical College Hosts Georgia Match Admit Day Connecting High School Seniors to College Opportunities

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Wednesday, March 26th, 2025

Albany Technical College is set to host the Georgia Match Admit Day on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Kirkland Conference Center on campus. This initiative, part of the statewide Georgia Match program, offers high school seniors and other prospective students the opportunity to connect directly with college admissions representatives, apply on-site, and receive immediate admission decisions.

The Georgia Match program, launched in 2023, is a direct admissions initiative designed to streamline the college application process for Georgia students. Spearheaded by Governor Brian Kemp and supported by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), this program identifies eligible students based on academic standing and proactively matches them with participating colleges.

At Albany Technical College’s Georgia Match Admit Day, attendees can expect:

  • On-the-spot college admissions with application fees waived for all attendees

  • FAFSA assistance to help students secure financial aid

  • Advisement on academic programs and career pathways

  • College tours showcasing Albany Tech’s state-of-the-art facilities

  • Support services for veterans and students with disabilities

The event is open to high school seniors, adult education graduates, parents, high school counselors, and other family support members. Prospective students should bring their Social Security Number, a valid Georgia ID or Driver’s License, and a registered GAfutures.org account for seamless processing.

“We welcome students to our campus and provide them with a direct pathway to higher education,” said Jerri Carroll, Vice President for Student Affairs. “Through Georgia Match, we are making college more accessible and ensuring students have the support they need to succeed.

Georgia Match Admit Day at Albany Technical College is part of a broader statewide effort, with additional Georgia Match events expected to take place in the Fall of 2025. Similar events at other institutions have already demonstrated success in increasing college enrollment and streamlining the admissions process for Georgia students.
