Albany Technical College Students Excel at SkillsUSA Georgia State Competition

Albany Technical College (ATC) celebrates the success of its students at the SkillsUSA Georgia Post-Secondary State Competition, held in Atlanta, Georgia, from February 20-22, 2025. A total of 34 ATC students competed in various skilled trades and technical disciplines, bringing home multiple medals, including three Gold Medalists who will advance to the national level.

Under the guidance of our instructors and advisors, students competed in categories such as Welding, Welding Fabrication, Welding Sculpture, Nurse Assisting, Practical Nursing, Cosmetology, Medical Terminology, TeamWorks, Firefighting, Nail Care, Early Childhood Education, Medical Assisting, Customer Service, Masonry, Barbering and Restaurant Service. The Gold Medalists will represent ATC at the National SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 23-27, 2025.

Reflecting on the state competition, Kenneth Williams, Director of Athletics/Student Life at Albany Technical College, expressed his admiration for the students' efforts, "We are incredibly proud of the 34 students who participated in this year's SkillsUSA State Conference. Each student demonstrated outstanding skill and professionalism while representing Albany Tech. With three Gold Medalists moving on to Nationals, we look forward to seeing them showcase their abilities on the national stage."
