Albany State University Hosts Annual High School Mathematics Tournament

The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics at Albany State University (ASU) successfully hosted its Annual High School Mathematics Tournament on the ASU West Campus. This prestigious competition is designed to celebrate academic excellence in mathematics and highlight the importance of mathematical proficiency in various professional fields.

The tournament welcomed 150 students from 15 high schools across Georgia, with 60 students participating in the ciphering round. The event kicked off with an opening ceremony featuring remarks from Willtresca Heppard-Streeter, Assistant Professor and Director of the Mathematics Tournament; Dr. C. Ofodile, Chair of Mathematics, Computer Science & Physics; and Dr. Melanie Hatch, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
