Albany State University Celebrates Three Staff Members Selected for Leadership Albany Class of 2025

Albany State University (ASU) proudly announces that three esteemed staff members have been selected to participate in the prestigious Leadership Albany Class of 2025. Dr. Vicki Phillips, Callie Hamilton, and Courtney Proctor will join a cohort of accomplished professionals dedicated to community leadership and service.
Leadership Albany is a highly respected program that fosters leadership development and civic engagement by providing participants with opportunities to enhance their leadership skills, gain a deeper understanding of community issues, and collaborate with fellow leaders to drive positive change in Albany and the surrounding areas
Meet Dr. Vicki Phillips, FNP-BC, FPMHNP
Dr. Phillips serves as the Director of Student Health Services at Albany State University and is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. An alumna of ASU, she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing before obtaining her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the Medical College of Georgia, now Augusta University. With a diverse nursing background spanning public health, urology, pediatrics, obstetrics, women’s health, and geriatrics, Dr. Phillips has played a vital role in guiding ASU’s health initiatives, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond her professional contributions, she is an associate minister at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and an active member of the Morehouse School of Medicine SHLI HIV/AIDS Health Equity Task Force.
Meet Callie Evans
Callie Hamilton is a dedicated educator committed to student success through innovative programs and mentorship. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Albany State University in 2011 and later obtained a Master of Business Administration in 2015. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration at Walden University, Callie continues to expand her expertise in business operations and strategic planning. As the first Director of the Albany State University Educational Talent Search (ASU ETS) program, she oversees a $1.3 million, five-year grant dedicated to supporting students in their college and career pursuits. Callie is also an advocate for student success through her involvement with Georgia TRIO as a Member-at-Large and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where she actively contributes to community service and mentorship initiatives.
Meet Courtney Proctor
Courtney Proctor is a dedicated public servant with a background in military and law enforcement service. A proud graduate of Westover High School, he served in the United States Marine Corps and the Texas Army National Guard. Currently, he serves as the South Georgia Public Affairs Specialist for the LifeLink Foundation and as a Police Officer at Albany State University, where he is also a member of the President’s Personal Guard. Beyond his professional commitments, Courtney is actively involved in community service, serving as a Board Member of the Southwest Georgia Workforce Development Board and participating in multiple healthcare and workforce initiatives. He is also a dedicated member of the Church of Christ.
The selection of Dr. Phillips, Ms. Hamilton, and Mr. Proctor for Leadership Albany underscores ASU’s commitment to fostering leadership excellence within its faculty and staff. Their participation in this program will further strengthen their ability to serve ASU and the broader community through impactful initiatives.
