“The appointment of Dr. Jani as President of GASCO underscores his unwavering commitment to promoting quality care initiatives, enhancing access to care and improving access to research clinical trials,” said Estrellita Redmon, MD, President of Phoebe Physicians.  “He has a distinguished history of leadership, and we are fortunate to have physicians with his level of expertise, experience and compassion as part of the Phoebe Cancer Center.”
Dr. Jani completed his internal medicine and primary medical training at New York Methodist Hospital, affiliated with Cornell Medical Center.  He specialized in geriatrics at the University of South Florida and pursued a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Massachusetts.  To further his leadership skills, he completed the Executive Program in the Business of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University.  Actively engaged in clinical research at both state and national levels, Dr. Jani’s leadership extends to his role as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).  His dedication to education is evident through his mentorship of high school students, medical residents, fellows and staff, thereby enhancing the quality of patient care through knowledge and training.
Dr. Jani’s appointment is a significant milestone, not only for him, but for the Albany community which he has served with distinction and dedication.  “I want to ensure that my leadership in GASCO will further the society’s mission and vision, ensuring oncology providers in Georgia continue to deliver exceptional cancer care.  I look forward to helping GASCO continue to advocate for cancer care providers, promote quality care initiatives and support the cancer care community,” he said.

Dr. Jani also thanked Phoebe’s leadership, the Phoebe Cancer Center staff and his family for supporting him, and he thanked GASCO for its previous financial contributions to assist cancer patients in southwest Georgia which he said shows the organization’s commitment to supporting communities served by Phoebe.
