Michael Lawson Joins Flint Community Bank

Flint Community Bank is excited to announce the addition of Michael Lawson as Vice President Commercial  Lender. Mr. Lawson has been in finance for almost 20 years.  

Lawson is a native of Albany and a graduate of Byne High School. He left to pursue degrees in History from  Lee University (B.A.) and the University of Richmond (M.A.). During his education, he received scholarship  fellowships at Cambridge University and in Quito, Ecuador, as well as a teaching fellowship in Jilin, China. Mr.  Lawson’s career in finance began in 2005 and he has worked in several markets including Richmond, VA,  Atlanta, GA, and Chattanooga, TN. Mr. Lawson returned home to Albany in early 2023 and quickly engaged  community efforts by joining the Board of Directors for Family Literacy Connection and starting the adult  financial literacy class “Dollars Make Sense” in partnership with Commissioner Anthony Jones, Ms. Linda  Coston of Albany Technical College, and Mrs. Jennifer Wilson. Lawson adds, "I am incredibly thankful to join  the Flint Community Bank family and am eager and optimistic to be a small part of Flint’s effort to strengthen  and build our beautiful community.”
