Blair Blackburn, chief financial officer at AB&T in Albany, has been elected by her peers in South Georgia to serve a three-year term on the Leadership GBA Board of Directors.

Leadership GBA supports the advancement of career bankers by providing leadership development training, serving as a forum through which career bankers can network and exchange ideas and promoting industry advocacy activities at the local, state and federal levels.

"Blair stands out as one of Georgia's most outstanding banking leaders. We're incredibly fortunate to have someone of her caliber guiding her peers across the state. We eagerly anticipate the insights, wisdom and experience she’ll bring to the role” said GBA Chairman Brad Barber, president and CEO of First National Bank, Bainbridge.

A Certified Public Accountant, Blackburn spent five years with Albany-based accounting firm Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC, working primarily in bank audits, and then two years with a family-run agricultural equipment business before joining AB&T as chief financial officer. As CFO, she prepares and interprets financial analysis for management, directors, shareholders and regulatory agencies, and she advises the bank’s board of directors and executive management about capital planning, budgeting, asset and liability management and liquidity forecasting.

A native of Macon, Blackburn earned her bachelor’s degree in business accounting from Middle Georgia State University. She relocated to South Georgia in 2015. Blackburn and her family are involved at Albany’s First Methodist Church, and she is also active as a PA volunteer at Deerfield-Windsor School.
