Georgia’s Own Credit Union, the second largest credit union in Georgia, announced the 2024 winners of its yearly college scholarship program. The 2024 Jump Start Scholarship gifted $1,000 to 20 high school seniors in Southwest Georgia to use for the 2024-25 academic year.

“One of our favorite ways to give back to the community is through our Jump Start Scholarships, as they represent a direct investment in our future,” said Robert Youngblood, Southwest regional president for Georgia’s Own Credit Union. “Given the rising costs associated with higher education, we value the opportunity to be even a small part of the successes sure to come for our exceptional students as they take the next step in their educational journey.”

To be considered for the Jump Start Scholarship, Georgia’s Own student members were required to provide a brief essay outlining their career goals and future aspirations. Additionally, applicants had to furnish their transcripts and display positive financial practices, community involvement and academic achievement.
