Secretary Raffensperger's Financial Literacy Program “MoneyTalks” is Making Waves Across the State

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s Securities Division recently hosted the “Money Talks” financial literacy program at the Atlanta Transitional Center and Burress Correctional Training Center. This program strongly supports the Securities Division’s goal to empower, educate, and encourage Georgians, providing valuable financial management skills to incarcerated individuals who will be returning to their communities following completion of their sentence.
“Every Georgian deserves the knowledge and knowhow to secure their financial future,” saidSecretary Raffensperger. “Our program is reaching out to all communities across Georgia, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.”
The program was moderated by Atlanta radio personalityArt Terrell. The panelists,Sileta Bell, President of The Bell Consultants;Leanne Francis Crayport, Senior Consultant at Deloitte Consulting;Ebony Francis, CEO, B.A., MBA, Accountant at AvestiCorp; andCait Howerton, MBA, CFP®, Certified Financial Planner Professional at Archer Investment Management, led insightful and engaging conversations on practical money skills which includes, budgeting, saving and investing, maximizing income, credit and loans, starting a small business, and creating a financial plan.

The Secretary of State Securities Division is a leader in improving financial literacy through outreach and education. The attendees were given free resources at the event which included: Investor & Financial Literacy Guide, Strategies for Investing Wisely & Avoiding Financial Fraud, Starting Your Financial Future: Making Informed Decisions When Starting Your New Job, Marriage and Money-Starting Your Financial Life Together, Investment Fraud-Spot the Red Flags and Take Action, and Working with Financial Professionals.
