Albany recognized Sexual Assault Prevention Month, April 26, beginning with a 5k run at 8
a.m., followed by a guest speaker and awards ceremony at 11 a.m.
Organizations and individuals who have supported the program in various roles were recognized.
Guest speakers for the awards ceremony were Ms. Rosie Rogers, Sexual Assault Survivor and
Retired Service Member from Quantico, VA. In addition, Ms. Tonya Jones with Interactive
Advocacy, conducted a formal panel for Marines and other leaders on “Healthy
Relationships/Boundaries.” Other community partners/guest attendees were representatives from
the Lily Pad, NAMI, Dougherty Co. DFCS, APD and the Liberty House.
