Kids 15 and under can catch as many fish as they want from our fully stocked catfish pond from 8a-noon. Event and Park Admission are completely FREE to kids 15 and under. Adults only pay Park admission. At noon, the pond will open to the public for the season at a 5 fish limit. Bring your own bait and gear, but we will have staff and volunteers ready to help if you need it!

SCRAPS TO SCULPTURE
Apr. 20 @ Party for the Planet
Turn Trash into Treasure at the Scraps to Sculpture Art Competition at Party for the Planet. Kindergarten through Highschool individuals or classrooms can submit their sculpture by Apr. 19 for a chance to win prizes. Art must be original and made entirely of repurposed or recycled materials with the exception of glue, tape, or fasteners. Zoo Guests will vote for the winners of each category, separated by classroom, individual, and class level.
Classroom Prizes include: FREE field trip and private program for your class, 45 minute animal presentation for entire grade, 45 minute presentation for class
Individual Prizes include: Free Family Membership to Chehaw, Free Summer camp, Day pass to Chehaw for your group
Need some space to create, help with your project, or materials? Take advantage of open studio space at the Albany Museum of Art. The AMA will have volunteers and repurposed/recycled items available to help create your masterpiece.

HOMESCHOOL DAY
APRIL 10 @ 10A-1P
Join us for Homeschool Day in the Zoo on Wednesday, April 10 from 10a-1p! We'll be "shellebrating" Gopher Tortoise Day and highlighting the importance of this native keystone species and its role in the ecosystems it inhabits. We'll have educational programs, activity stations, animal meet & greets, crafts, and more! Activities are free with Zoo admission. Admission is free for Chehaw members.
