A Westover Comprehensive High School senior has earned a state award at the annual Georgia Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Leadership Conference.

Akhai Davis took and passed the Statesman exam, which is a competition where students are given 50 questions and must score at least 86% to earn the Statesman status. Those who earn this credential are recognized on stage at the conference and are awarded the esteemed Statesman Award pin.

The Statesman Event is an individual event that acknowledges FCCLA members for their knowledge of state and national FCCLA. This event is open to all FCCLA members.
