DCSS Students Shine at Kiwanis Art Show

Two Dougherty High School students swept the "Best in Show," categories at the 43rd Annual Albany-Dougherty Kiwanis Art Show recently, capping a strong showing by DCSS students at the annual event.
The artwork is on display March 18-28, 12 noon-4 p.m., at the Joseph W. Holley Fine Arts Center on Albany State University's east campus (high school), at the Albany Arts Council building, 215 North Jackson Street (middle school); and March 20-27, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at Albany Museum of Art (elementary school). The entire competition included 6th through 12th grade students in Dougherty and Lee County public schools as well as local private schools. Open Gallery at all three locations will be held Saturday, March 23, from 1-5 p.m.
Dougherty High student Madelin Vasquez earned "Best in Show," honors for first and second place for her submissions while Dougherty student Zamira Austin earned "Best in Show," for third place.
